Private owners, corporate operators and FBO's will appreciate the Big Bee Start Cart. The Big Bee will deliver 28.5 volts of DC power, even after multiple starts. Typically, 2025 starts can be expected between charges. The Big Bee is built to start most business aircraft, such as the King Air, Citation and Standard Features even helicopters.
The following instruction is intended for use with Aviall Services Inc. battery start carts. Use of other batteries and or charging systems is not recommended and could cause damage to your battery cart. Hydrogen gas is released while batteries are charging. Charging should be done in a well-ventilated smoke/flame free area.

Daily Charging

  • Place Big Bee cart charger on sturdy table and plug line cord into adequate 120VAC receptacle.
  • Plug cart charger into cart charging receptacle.
  • Turn charger timer to desired charging time based on charge state as indicated on the carts battery status indicator.
  • The amp meter on the charger will indicate current flow.
  • The charging current will decrease as the batteries become fully charged.

    Servicing Batteries

  • Battery service should be done every 50 charges or every 2 months whichever comes first.
  • Charge cart batteries until all cells reach a specific gravity of 1.285
  • Add distilled water (if needed) until water level is just below filler tube.
  • Snug all electrical connections.
  • Wash down battery compartment with a mixture of baking soda and water.
