Owners and technicians of NL starters that exhibit the following characteristic should consider following the NL Shear Pin Resetting instructions located below and demonstrated in the animation above:
Problem Description: When energized, the starter pinion engages the flywheel and the starter motor spins (or at least SOUNDS like it is spinning) but the starters pinion gear does not rotate.
Solution:DO NOT RETURN THE STARTER TO SkyGeek/SKY-TEC. Repair the starter per the following instructions.
