MicrobMonitor2 Test Kits
MicrobMonitor2 quantitatively detects Hormoconis Resinae and uniquely all other aerobic moulds, yeasts and bacteria that can cause fouling and corrosion in fuel. The MicrobMonitor2® works with any petroleum product and associated water. It is recommended by IATA for use in aviation fuel and is listed in the Aircraft Maintenance Manuals of Boeing, Airbus and other major aircraft OEMs. This test is also used by the military as National Stock Number (NSN), 4930014831014, and is a codified NATO Stock item (No. 6640-99-834-3573).
MicrobMonitor2®is a simple, uniquely quantitative test, which delivers an easily understood numerical contamination level. It uses the reliable and trusted colony forming unit (CFU) technology and indicates the severity of contamination and not just the presence of microbes as with “go, no-go” tests. Test results are comparable with IP 385 and ASTM 6974-03. Has been validated by independent laboratory tests and published s a new Energy Institute International Petroleum test method, IP613, for measuring microbial contamination of fuels and associated water.
Tests results take from 1-7 days but regular testing gives an early warning of a potential problem and allows ample time for action before operational problems occur. Experience has shown that a fuel re-test after a few days is always recommended to confirm that contamination detected is really due to growth in an aircraft.
MicrobMonitor2® is IATA approved and recognized by major airframe manufacturers. This easy to use product is specifically formulated to detect microbial activity in aviation fuel. It is a simple, uniquely quantitative test. You can test the water or fuel phase of aviation fuel. The test consists of a test bottle containing a nutrient gel that promotes the growth of bacteria and yeast/molds.
