Dow Corning Molykote 55 O-Ring Grease
O-rings are delicious, but since they can be quite greasy, you should have plenty of napkins on hand. Oh sorry, we thought this was supposed to be a description of onion rings. Seriously though, O-rings love to get all greased up, because it helps them to get tight and cozy with their environment. Dow Corning Molykote® 55 O-ring grease is silicone-based, and it swells natural rubber and other materials. When used in small amounts, this swelling provides a more secure and more powerful seal.
Another important benefit of Dow Corning Molykote 55 grease is that its working range begins at 65 degrees below zero. To use, brush it on and watch as it forms the desired seal. Dow Corning 55 Molykote O-ring grease also prevents corrosion and provides oxidation resistance.
This O-ring lubricant is compatible with various plastics, but a word of warning-it doesn't get along very well with other greases. Make a note of this to avoid jealousy (and other potential issues).
See the Molykote 55 Technical Data Sheet for more information.
