DOW® MOLYKOTE™ 55 O-Ring Grease
O-rings are delicious, but since they can be quite greasy, you should have plenty of napkins on hand. Oh sorry, we thought this was supposed to be a description of onion rings. Seriously though, O-rings love to get all greased up because it helps them to get tight and cozy with their environment, preventing leaks and creating better connections. When it comes to lubricating O-rings, SkyGeek recommends Dow Corning Molykote® 55 O-Ring Grease. The silicone-based formula helps to gently swell natural rubber and other materials, resulting in a tighter fit and a better seal. All it takes is a little bit to create swelling and to provide a more secure and more powerful seal.
Another important benefit of Dow Corning Molykote® 55 Grease is that it has a wide working range. The grease works at temperatures as low as 65 degrees below zero. To use, simply brush the grease on and watch as it forms the desired seal. Dow Corning 55 Molykote® O-Ring Grease is also protective and helps prevents corrosion by providing oxidation resistance wherever it is applied.
Dow Corning Molykote® 55 O-ring lubricant is compatible with all different types of plastics, rubbers and other materials, but a word of warning - it doesn't get along very well with other greases. Make a note of this to avoid jealousy (and other potential issues).
