Sandstrom 28A Solid Film Lubricant is a lacquer-like coating containing molybdenum disulfide and corrosion inhibiting pigments. This Air Drying material prevents corrosion, galling, seizing and fretting. It is a low-friction coating which exhibits long wear life when operated at -320F to +500F under loads exceeding 100,000 psi. Sandstrom 28A should be applied where baking with the longer wearing, heat cured #099, Sandstrom 9A or LC-300 is not desirable.

Excellent Corrosion Protection without the use of toxic heavy metals and the use of non-HAP solvents are its outstanding characteristics.

Once Sandstrom 28A has been applied to a properly prepared surface and allowed to cure, it is virtually unaffected by atmospheric and fretting corrosion, solvents, acids, oils and degreasers. Sandstrom 28A can be applied to all metallic and non-metallic surfaces by spray application.

Dry Film Lub haven't seen for many years
By JJM from North New Jersey on March 1, 2016
This related to a material at the time called Rock Island Arsenal Compund 9A which I learned about during corrosion control training when I was an Engineer at for the Army.
This material is simple to use since it is air dry instead of Heat cured. I plan to use on the column of my drill press.
    Delivery was very quick

    Sandstrom 28A application and uses
By Eric from Oregon on January 6, 2016
As a depot level armorer for the Army I saw the use of this product and used it. Now I've tried it on a personal level. The problems I've noticed in the past (usually flaking) appear to be resulting from improper preparation. Following directions I prepared my project using Acetone to degrease and clean my parts. I cleaned them several times insuring the last cleaning was untouched by human hands. The product applied easily (no different than a standard can of spray paint) taking normal care to avoid build-up or running. It applied quite well and I've no complaints. It looks good for the application and dried evenly. Now I merely have to see how long it will last.
Application was easy and trouble free.
    None at this time.

I would recommend this item to a friend.
