Replacement Oil-Pump Gears

Airworthiness Directive 96-09-10 (effective July 15, 1996) affects Textron Lycoming reciprocating engines. The AD is intended to prevent an oil pump failure due to a failure of the oil pump impeller, which could then result in a complete engine failure. The AD requires replacement of sintered iron and aluminum oil pump impellers and shafts with hardened steel oil pump impellers and shafts.
