Solved my problems.

I have used the IC-A6 for some three years now, and originally bought the BC-119N desktop charger to go along with it. Curiously it worked fine for two years. Then I stopped using the radio and so I did not charge the battery, and when I needed to use it again, after some 10 months of not using it, I went ahead and charged the battery only to find out it did not charge at all. I bought another battery(BP-210N) thinking it may have been ruined but it did not charge as well. So I went and looked for another BC-119N charger and read the note that said it charged another battery model, not the 210N. I found out that this BC-144N was the correct charger for my batteries and sure enough it charged both batteries correctly. Not only that, the original battery stores its charge much longer than it used to with the BC-119N charger. Everything comes inside the box nothing additional to buy, as opposed to the 119N I had to buy an adapter for the batteries that goes in its center.
Pros:
Charges properly.
