The Americas Version covers all of North America, Central America, Caribbean and South America as far south as Antarctica The Garmin 695 has features that focus only on aviation navigation and mapping, making the GPSMAP Garmin 695 the ultimate portable MFD. Like the Garmin 696, the Garmin 695 features a large display screen and detailed electronic charts (minus XM compatibility) at a very affordable price. The Big Picture The Garmin 695 has a beautifully bright 7 inch high-definition, sunlight readable display that makes even the most detailed mapping easy to see - day or night. You can even view an entire approach plate on this large format display. The bezel around the screen includes soft keys and a joystick control the ultimate ease of operation. With a 5 Hz GPS update-rate, the Garmin 695 renders graphics and smoothly and continuously presents flight data. Got No Chart? Got No Problem with the 695 The addition of Garmin FliteCharts®* and IFR map mode gives the Garmin 695 Class 1 / Class 2 electronic flight bag (EFB) capability, cutting back on all the paper charts you’ll need in the cockpit. FliteCharts allows you to quickly find and view all U.S. NACO departure procedures (DP), standard terminal arrival routes (STARs), airport diagrams and approach charts. If the approach you’re currently on is known, Garmin 695 selects the right chart based on the flight plan… automatically. When The 695 is in IFR map mode, it can display jet routes, victor airways, minimum en-route altitude & leg distance, much like found on paper en-route charts. Enhance Situational Awareness The Garmin 695 has a high resolution terrain page which shows hazards relative to your crafts altitude and a vertical profile of terrain along your flight route. The Garmin 695 comes with a built in Jeppesen database, and a terrain database for the Americas, Atlantic or Pacific. Also included is an obstacles database for the United States and Europe. The 695 can thus display your flight route over contour-terrain mapping. With detailed information from terrain & obstacles databases, the Garmin 695 monitors your current position in relation to the surrounding terrain and provides alerts. What’s really great is that you can customize your own minimum clearance levels to receive terrain cautions. The Garmin 695 also features a realistic "view from space" satellite imagery base-map. The Garmin 695 portable device includes all the following enhanced aviation databases: *A single update of FliteCharts® comes preloaded on the unit. FliteCharts will automatically disable when the data is over six (6) months out-of-date (six month period to commence when map is loaded in the factory). Each box will contain a certificate for a free six (6) month period for FliteCharts updates. After the six month period, you must purchase a subscription for continuous FliteCharts chart availability. Why keep your old GPS when there is better and "geekier" technology out there now???
