Eastern Technology E50 Magneto Timing Light

The Aircraft Magneto Timing Light Model E50 is the industry standard. Designed specifically for the internal timing and synchronization of aircraft magnetos, the E50 safely absorbs the current from the magneto's impulse coupling -- so there is no danger of engine firing while adjustments are being made.

The E50 timing light takes all the guess work out of the magneto timing process. And it's quick and easy to use: simply attach the three clips to the magnetos and adjust them until the E50's two blinking lights are synchronized and the buzzer changes in pitch. That's all there is to it. Perfect timing.

1. Place aircraft ignition switch in the off position.
2. Attach black ground lead to any good engine ground.
3. Attach left red lead to points of left magneto.
4. Attach right red lead to points of right magneto.
5. Turn synchronizer switch on.
6. Turn ignition switch on.
7. Rotate engine slowly watching lights on synchronizer. Each light will indicate the exact point opening and closing of its respective magneto.
8. Adjust magnetos until both lights are in synchronous, and the buzzer changes pitch.
9. Turn aircraft ignition switch off.
10. Remove synchronizer

Note:
The model E-50 Synchronizer will absorb all current from the magnetos with no danger of engine firing while adjustments are being made.

Maintenance
This unit has been designed for long life. In the event battery replacement is necessary remove the four corner screws and withdraw the entire mechanism from its case. Replace worn out battery with one 9-volt alkaline battery.
