Dow Corning 3140 RTV Silicone Sealant

Dow Corning 3140 RTV Silicone Sealant

If your aircraft isn't the spring chicken it once was, you're probably starting to see some cracked or loose seals, deteriorating wiring and other issues that you need to get fixed right away. Fortunately, SkyGeek carries a wide range of neat, tidy little tubes that can help bring your plane back to its former glory. Dow Corning® 3140 RTV silicone sealant is one such substance.

In addition to bonding well to reactive metals, plastics and ceramics, Dow Corning 3140 RTV silicone sealant can also adhere to certain resins and laminates. Although it isn't specifically made to affix to non-reactive surfaces like Teflon, it can maintain a decent bond if special treatments like plasma treatments or chemical etching are used.

Other big benefits for Dow Corning 3140 include exceptional viscosity and room temperature curing. This means that no curing oven is necessary, which greatly reduces costs. It's also a single-component substance, so no mixing required. All you need to do is squeeze it out of its tube, apply it and sit back. It complies with the rigorous specifications of MIL-A-46146, UL 94V-1 and IPC-CC-830. See other specifications for more information.
