This FAA-PMA'd stainless steel heat shield is a must when installing the Burl's Firewall Mounted Battery tray in a Cessna 180, 182 or 185. This Heat Shield was designed to counteract high temperatures which can occur under the cowl of Cessna 180 and 185 aircraft as a result of heat thrown from the exhaust. This shield permits air to flow freely around the installed Odyssey SBSJ-16 Battery helping it to operate at normal temperature levels.

This Heat Shield is for use on a Seaplane/Float kitted Cessna 180, 182 & 185 and is not FAA STC'd. It will require an FAA337 Field approval. The battery box is FAA-PMA'd and to facilitate a smooth FAA Field Approval the following items are supplied:
  • FAA-PMA approved stainless Heat Shield
  • Detailed Installation instructions along with a CAD Blueprint
  • Instructions for continued airworthiness
  • Updated Weight and Balance information
