In the Cockpit
Keep your iPad safely strapped to your knee with the iPad Kneeboard. Its snug, contoured fit allows pilots to easily take notes by hand without slippage. The iPro has a hinged writing pad with clipboard capabilities called the “flight desk” which sits atop your iPad. The top doesn’t cover the entire face of your iPad so when you open it, it doesn’t bump the yoke. If it gets in the way, you can simply remove it and stow it away. It’s one of the ultimate iPad accessories.
On the Ground
The iPad iPro isn’t just for use up in the sky. You can use it on the ground as well. If you need to do some online shopping, catch up on the news or check your email and the weather, the iPad kneeboard has an integrated kickstand that folds out so you can prop it up on a table or desk.
In Transit
When you use the iPad Pro, there’s no need to use a separate case for it. For safety purposes, it can be closed shut with the Velcro leg strap. The tough exterior and interior padding give your iPad the best protection while you have it up in the air or on the ground.
Will the iPad 2 and the iPad 3 fit in the iPro Aviator Kneeboard?
- The length and height of the iPad2/iPad3 are the same as the original iPad, however the thickness has gone down from 13.4mm to 8.8mm. So with the extra foam padding strips you should be able to make your iPad2/3 nice and cozy in the iPro Aviator

Not so impressedBy Larry from Sterling Heights, MI on October 8, 2012 It looks good in theory, but I fly a couple different airplanes. It's been problematic in all of them.
As a CFI on Cessna 172/182, I can't make it work on my right leg in the right seat. No place to put my arm/hand when I write. Plus the yoke tends to hit the iPad.
In a low wing airplane, with a bit more legroom and flown from the left seat - again on the right leg, I have slightly more room, but with my feet on the floor, the ipad is angled away from me.
Since you need the cover flipped over to see the whole ipad screen, its one more thing in the way - sort of.
Finally, personal preference. I want to see the screen in landscape. Seeing the top third when the cover is over is basically useless in WingXPro or ForeFlight.
Pros:+ Rugged materials
+ Solid Hinge
+ Elastic band is plenty long & wide enoughCons:- blocks 75% of the iPad.
- just a little too narrow for a piece of paper (8.5 x 11) folder in half. The paper is about an inch too wide. So much for printing anything and snapping it easily into the clipboard.
- No room for any other items to be stored in the board.
- the pen/pencil holder is on the strap - not convenient for finding or sliding in and out.
iProBy Jorge from Mexico on August 21, 2012 Is a great product, the iPad fits perfectly and the note cover is very practical during the flightPros:ErgonomyI would recommend this item to a friend. The iPro Aviator performs great!By Jim Shelton from Southern Wisconsin on July 11, 2012 Received this knee-board recently and have been using it with my new iPad 3 and Garmin's Pilot software and it is all WORKING GREAT.
I fly a Beechcraft Bonanza and one of my goals was to have a knee-board that effectively held the iPad, along with a notepad.
As I looked at competitive units with full length covers and notepads, they appeared to be inconvenient or would be difficult to write on trying to work around the control yoke and my left knew.
When you first look at this knee-board you may think it a little different with the 2/3 cover. Don't be!
The IProv Aviator 2/3 flip cover design works great. You can flip it over quickly, easily make a few notes, then flip back to the iPad without interfering or hitting the yoke.
I also understand the IPro will soon be offering custom notepads to go with this knee-board.
Pros:Holds the knee-board securely.
2/3 cover allows for easy access to notepad and iPad without hitting the yoke,
Notepad is very easy to use.
New notepad paper is a great asset.I would recommend this item to a friend.as advertisedBy butch baxter from bozeman, mt on August 21, 2011 this is a high quality, well constructed, well thought out item. you have paper and the pad all in one. hard plastic (durable) with all the proper holes for the ipad buttons. i fly a side-stick, and it works great in my open lap. if you drive a yoke, i'm not sure. with this puppy, an ipad, foreflight (software and subscription), an external gps and any of many "six-pack" apps and you could probably fly one of those pipers or even a cessna.I would recommend this item to a friend. In and outBy Chris from USA on July 5, 2011 This one works good both in and out of the airplane. I like being able to close it up securely with the leg strap around the front. It is made of a hard rubbery plastic that seems practically indestructible. The half-height clipboard is uber cool and very functional.I would recommend this item to a friend.ipad kneeboardBy Michael from Oregon on June 13, 2011 Good kneeboard, works as advertised.Pros:clipboard does not interfere with the yoke.I would recommend this item to a friend.I like itBy Sierra from NC on March 22, 2011 I received it quickly and it works as advertised and it light weight. I like the nice flap with the clip on the outside makes this easy for my note taking. Easy to flip open to see my iPad for all it can doI would recommend this item to a friend.
