Useful for more than just aviation, AeroShell Fluid 18 is great for any application where water displacement or corrosion protection is required. Though this highly refined petroleum lubricating oil is a great low temperature lubricant, it is not recommended for use in temperatures below -57 degrees C.

APPLICATIONS:

AeroShell Fluid 18 is for use in the lubrication and corrosion protection of small arms and automatic weapons and as a general purpose lubricant for all applications where water displacing, corrosion protection, and low temperature lubrication is required.

AeroShell Fluid 18 is also intended for locks, hinges, electric motors, fans, small bearings, control rods and cables and can be used in numerous non-aviation applications.

AeroShell Fluid 18 is not recommended as a lubricant at temperatures below -57°C.

I've been using this for about 2 years and it's my favorite gun lube.

I live in Oregon and shoot both in the summer and in the winter, rain or shine. I have had zero problems with rust after switching to AS 18, which is even more impressive as I frequently shoot corrosive ammo.

It's a pretty thin oil but works well on every weapon I've tried it out on. Not rated as a cleaner but AS 18 actually does a decent job of carbon removal too.

All this for less than 1/2 the price of CLP.
