AC-135 is an adhesion promoter for polysulfide sealant used on metal and/or solvent-resistant coatings. It contains mixed solvents blended with a surface activator agent, which produce an adhesion promoter meeting current industry VOC, ODC and HAP requirements. Surface Preparation For maximum adhesion, clean surfaces with appropriate solvent (reclaimed solvents should not be used) to remove dirt, grease and processing oils just prior to application. Use approved cheesecloth, or equivalent, that is free of oil and soap. Always turn cloth frequently to prevent contamination. Always pour solvent on the cloth to avoid contaminating the solvent supply. Clean only a small area at a time, quickly wiping it dry with another clean cloth. Turn cloth frequently, before the solvent evaporates, to prevent redeposition of oil, wax or other contaminants. Application Instructions AC-135 may be applied to solvent-cleaned surfaces with clean gauze or brush. Excess should be wiped off while still wet with clean gauze sponges. The surface should remain a uniform light red color. Dry approximately 30 minutes. Procedure should be repeated if sealant is not applied within 4 hours. Storage When purchased to the AMS1300 specification, the shelf life of AC-135 is 6 months from date of manufacture, between 40 degrees F and 90 degrees F in the original unopened bottles. Storage at lower temperatures increases shelf life. AC-135 is hygroscopic and will become cloudy due to hydrolysis. This product should be disposed of when it becomes cloudy. Health and Safety Precautions AC-135 adhesion promoter is safe to use and apply when recommended precautions are followed. Before using this product, read and understand the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), which provides information on health, physical and environmental hazards, handling precautions and first aid recommendations. An MSDS is available on request. Avoid overexposure. Obtain medical care in case of extreme overexposure. |
