Headset - AC910 PNR with Built-in cell phone port with phone cable

The AC910 PNR with AVCOMM's exclusive patented PNR™ (passive noise reduction) technology, offers more in an improved design. These latest enhancements make the AC910 PNR the premium choice in the AVCOMM headset lineup. Pilots and passengers everywhere are praising the features and benefits, claiming its comfort and performance surpass anything they've used before.

The powerful, ultra-lite Neodymium speakers produce a richer, smoother frequency response for both voice and music. The powerful magnetic core and diaphragm provide high sensitivity and optimized response.

The speaker, a thin lightweight 4/10th's of an ounce, reduces headset weight for added comfort. The advanced speaker installation technique enhances audio performance, reduces annoying inner ear cup vibrations and increases noise attenuation. The M65 microphone with ceramic hybrid active filtering chip eliminates up to 75% of unwanted background noise while amplifying desired voice signals. Additionally, the preamp circuit is immune to environmental changes, will not corrode, and has a much longer life than conventional PCB based products.

Unique features include a full flex boom which bends and holds any position easily for precise microphone placement. A push-to-talk on the ear dome is a favorite feature for anyone who would appreciate a backup PTT. This addition allows easy and effortless transmission without reaching for the controls. Dual volume controls provide pilots and passengers more control for customizing personal audio preference. And new this year, a switch built into the cord allows independent volume control in either mono or stereo on either ear dome — a benefit for those with hearing loss.

Durable copper wire with spiral shielding eliminates RF interference while a polyurethane cover adds abrasion resistance and flexibility.

Additional features include:

  • Gold plated mic and headphone plugs
  • High impact ABS ear cups
  • Easy-to-adjust stainless steel headband with easy thumbnut adjustment
  • Deluxe comfort head pad
  • Deluxe gel ear seals
  • 100% cotton ear covers
  • Acoustic mic muff to protect the new microphone from moisture and wind noise
  • A full five-year factory warranty.

    • Patented PNR™ Audio Design: Proven audio performance technology for clearer, crisper communication.
    • Ultra-lite Neodymium Speakers: Known for their light weight and high efficiency, neodymium speakers.
    • M-65 Electret Microphone: Highly reliable electret noise cancelling microphone for excellent sound quality with "active filtering" chip.
    • Full flex boom: The full flex boom bends and holds any position easily for precise microphone placement. Simply adjust the boom to the desired position and it stays where you put it. The centrally mounted boom allows the microphone and cable to be either on the right side or left side. Holding the headset straight up, simply move the mic boom in a semi circular direction going over the headset to the other side. The flex boom will rotate a total of 210°, stop to stop. Do not force the boom to rotate past the stops.
    • Cell Phone Capable: There is a Built-in Cell Port on the RH Ear cup with Cell phone interface cable provided
    • Exclusive Built-In Push to Talk Switch: The Avcomm deluxe built-in PTT is located on the lower portion of the ear dome without the mic-boom. It allows easy and effortless transmission to the ATC without reaching for the controls and operates in the same manner as a yoke mounted PTT or a PTT on a portable intercom. To operate, the aircraft radio microphone jack must be wired for an auxiliary PTT. Plug the headset into the aircraft radio jack or intercom. Press and hold the PTT button to transmit to the ATC.
    • Deluxe Gel Ear Seals: Designed for luxurious comfort with silicone gel that conforms to facial contours and glasses.Unique "venting" prevents "ballooning" at higher altitudes. Durable polyurethane construction is unaffected by temperature extremes.
    • Insulated Tensile Wiring: The high flex bending capability (similar to telephone cabling) gives this wire its distinctive durability. Flexible copper wire with spiral shielding eliminates radio frequency interference (RFI). A polyurethane cover provides added abrasion resistance, strength and flexibility.
    • Volume Control: The AC-910PNR features and independent volume control on each ear cup. Simply rotate the knob to increase or decrease the volume.
    • Mono-Stereo Switch: Avcomm stereo headsets have either (1) a built-in mono-stereo switch in the volume control on the ear dome without the micboom, or (2) a mono-stereo switch in the 'Y-block' on the main headset cable. Mono Mode: Select mono mode when plugging your headset directly into the radio, a mono intercom, or when a stereo intercom will have mono headsets plugged into it. When using a mono intercom, each headset that is plugged in should be set to mono mode. If mono mode is not selected, the sound in one ear dome will be lost. To operate:
      1. Built-in mono-stereo switch: rotate the knob counter-clockwise until it clicks. Volume for both ear domes is now regulated by the volume control on the mic-boom side.
      2. 'Y-block' mono-stereo switch: simply select the mono position. The volume control on each eardome now works independently.
Stereo Mode: Select stereo mode when using a stereo intercom with all stereo headsets. Precise volume control adjustments may now be made for each ear dome. If you will be using both mono and stereo headsets with a stereo intercom, be sure that all headsets are in mono mode. If they are not, stereo headsets may have the sound to one ear dome disabled. To operate:
      1. Built-in mono-stereo switch: for stereo reception, rotate the volume control clockwise out of detent.
      2. 'Y-block' mono-stereo switch: simply select the stereo position.
    • Gold Plated Plugs: The General Aviation Plugs (1/4" & 3/16" ) are gold plated for positive contact and superior signal transfer.

Introducing Avcomm’s aviation headset series featuring patented PNR audio technology, the latest advancement in acoustic sound management. Our design team met the challenge to find an alternative to heavy ANR circuitry and batteries that didn’t provide the full benefit of noise reduction over the entire frequency band and to overcome the problem of compromised passive noise attenuation should the ANR feature fail or be turned off.

Avcomm's new PNR design features a dramatic reduction in annoying inner ear cup vibrations while increasing noise attenuation and decreasing headset weight for added comfort. High efficiency ultra-lite neodymium speakers with a powerful magnetic core and diaphragm provide richer, smoother frequency response for both voice and music. Revolutionary speakers combined with an advanced speaker installation technique delivers audio performance that is simply outstanding.

To demonstrate the advantage of PNR performance, tests were performed in Avcomm’s facility on headsets from three leading ANR manufacturers to compare ANR to Avcomm’s PNR technology. The results are illustrated in the graph shown.

The Avcomm design team met the challenge to find an alternative to heavy ANR circuitry and batteries that didn’t provide the full benefit of noise reduction over the entire frequency band and to address the problem of compromised passive noise attenuation should the ANR feature fail or be turned off. Advanced patented PNR audio technology provides pilots with a new option. The following test report compares three leading manufacturers ANR headsets with Avcomm’s PNR headsets. Rigorous control standards were employed using identical test subjects for each test to exclude outside variables such as head shape or ear size. The results are overwhelming, proving that AVCOMM PNR Headsets clearly outperforms the competition.

    Test Parameters
    • All headsets were brand new and tested in "out of the box" condition.
    • No change was made to manufacturers standard clamping pressure or earseals.
    • All ANR test headsets were powered by new batteries.
    • The sampling microphone was placed at the entrance of the test participant’s ear canal.
    • Only the left sides of the headsets were tested.
    Test Variables
    • The test shows the comparison of noise attenuation of each headset under identical lab conditions. Outside the lab environment, a variance factor would be required for differences in human anatomy (head/ear shape and size).
    Test Conditions
    • Sound – level: 110dB (average)
    • Sine wave frequency sweep: 10 Hz to 8 kHz.
