Phillips 66 X/C® Aviation Oil is an ashless dispersant, multigrade engine oil specifically formulated for year-round use in aircraft piston engines. It
provides distinct performance benefits compared to single-grade engine oils, including easier starting and faster oil circulation at low temperatures,
reduced warm-up time and reduced oil consumption in most engines. It maintains its film strength under high loads and at high temperatures to protect
against wear and piston scuffing. The ashless dispersant formulation helps minimize the formation of engine sludge, varnish, piston deposits and combustion
chamber deposits. This results in a much cleaner engine compared to the use of straight mineral oils.
X/C® Aviation Oil was the first FAA-approved mineral oil-based, ashless dispersant, multiviscosity aviation engine oil. It has provided outstanding, proven
performance in a wide variety of aviation uses since its introduction in 1979, including flight schools, charter and cargo airlines, acrobatic aircraft,
spray planes, race planes and virtually any other general aviation application. It is available throughout the United States and is exported to other
countries around the world. X/C 20W-50 is recommended for break-in. It provides a cleaner and quicker break-in than traditional all mineral single grade oils. Plus, this product is an operational oil so there is no need to switch oils after break-in. X/C 20W-50 utilizes all petroleum base oils which provide excellent solvency and is successful in preventing lead and lead salts. Take advantage of X/C 20W-50’s multiviscosity performance benefits year-round for easier starts and quicker flow of oil to critical engine parts. I gave 4 stars as I received the case with 1 leaking bottle, and its corresponding mess !!I would recommend this item to a friend.Merchant Response:We apologize for the leaking bottle, we have actually just implemented a procedure in our warehouse to open each case of oil, check that each bottle is securely tightened, and reseal the case. It's a bit of extra work on our end, but if it stops our customers from getting a "corresponding mess!!" it is well worth the effort.
-The SkyGeek Teamworks greatBy Chuck on July 24, 2010 I was using 100 plus before this product and find that this oil had made my engine run cooler. I dont know what happend to the other guys engine but I dont think it was the oil that did it. Also my 0-320h uses less oil than with the 100w.
I would recommend this oil to anyone.

1700 Hours Total time engine and airframe
Uses 1 quart every 9 hours (Its 100 degs plus outside here)Causes high oil TempsBy Troy on June 5, 2010 My Mechanic recommended this product at my last oil change. Every thing was great with the engine prior to the change and I had flown an hour that day prior to the change. After the oil change my oil temps went over red line consistently after 30 Mins of flight and I would have to go full rich to get it down. Changed back to 100W after 10 hours and problem was solved. I have a Cessna 172F, 800 hrs SMOH, 30 Hrs since Top, Continental 0300D. I will not use this product again.
