Combining color moving map and terrain alerting features with the latest in satellite datalink graphical weather, Garmin’s new GPSMAP® 396 is one amazing flight visualization tool.

With its integrated GXM 30 Smart Antenna and built-in satellite receiver, the GPSMAP 396 lets you track the same near-real-time weather picture in the cockpit that your favorite meterologist is watching on the ground. Crisp, high-resolution color graphics bring you detailed NEXRAD radar imaging and METARs, as well as current reports on precipitation, lightning, winds aloft, airport terminal forecasts and more. You can even connect the GPSMAP 396 to your Garmin Mode S transponder for display of TIS traffic targets and information.

The unit’s built-in Jeppesen® database provides detailed movingmap views of your flight route, displayed over realistic topography. And for added safety, a database-driven terrain advisory feature offers TAWS-like color coding and pop-up alerts when possible obstructions ro ground proximity conflicts loom ahead. There’s even an inflight entertainment option, with XM Satellite Radio bringing you over 150 channels of music, news, sports, and more - for output through your cabin audio system. The Garmin GPSMAP 396: For "big picture" navigation in a portable format, nothing else even comes close.

    How the trade-in process works:
    Place your order via our website or one of the Geeks @ 888-SKY-GEEK (759-4335) for the NEW model you want to purchase (GPSMap 296, 396, 495, 496, 695 or 696 ) and get a quote on the trade-in value of your “old” unit.
    1. Once the order for the new unit has been placed we will give you a reference number for the trade. We will also send you an email with the address to send it back to. Please include all original packaging.
    2. Conditions: Trade-in units must be in “like new” condition and include all original accessories. Any known problems with the unit (missing parts, damage) must be discussed with us before the unit is sent to us. Use common sense!!! We have to say it - SkyGeek reserves the right to deny a trade if these conditions are not met.
    3. You send the trade back to us using whatever shipping method makes you happy (you pay for the shipping). Remember to reference the return number given to you on the outside of the box.
    4. IMPORTANT: Credit for the trade will not be given until we have evaluated your traded unit.
    5. If all is well, we will credit the card used to purchase the NEW unit for the agreed-upon trade-in value.
