With the Garmin 296, you get detailed sectional (chart style) shaded mapping & an extensive Jeppesen® database help visualize your flight-path in relation to nearby navaids, terrain, SUAs, obstructions and more. In addition, now you can put the 296 unit on "Terrain Mode" for TAWS like warnings & alerts when proximity conflicts lie ahead of you. About 40% of all aircraft accidents result from Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT). The "look ahead" hazard alerting on the Garmin 296 provides an extra margin of safety that enables you to make timely decisions and maneuvers for terrain avoidance. The optional MapSource® CD downloads and user-selectable formats for the Garmin 296 let you transfer this portable GPS from plane, boat and automobile without hassle.     Place your order via our website or with one of our Geeks at @ 888-SKY-GEEK (759-4335) for the NEW model you want to purchase (GPSMap 296, 396, 495, 496, 695 or 696 ) and then send your old Aviation GPS to:

    1. Once the order for the new unit has been placed you will receive an Invoice via e-mail. Print a copy of this Invoice and include it with the "Trade" so we know who, what, when, where and why about the old unit coming back. All trade-in units need to be on our dock within 15 days from the date the new unit purchased is received. Please re-inspect your trade-in before shipping it to us and make sure it's complete.
    2. Conditions: Trade-in units must be in “like new” condition and include all original accessories. Any known problems with the unit (missing parts, damage) must be discussed with us before the unit is sent to us. Use common sense!!! We have to say it - SkyGeek reserves the right to deny a trade if these conditions are not met.
    3. You send the trade back to us using whatever shipping method makes you happy (you pay for the shipping). Remember to reference the return number given to you on the outside of the box.
    4. IMPORTANT: Credit for the trade will not be given until we have evaluated your traded unit.
    5. If all is well, we will credit the card used to purchase the NEW unit for the agreed-upon trade-in value.
